This first video contains two jumps. In the first jump I’m the guy wearing the back jumpsuit with blue grippers. The camera is worn by my buddy Jim. In the second jump its my own POV. I’m actually wearing the camera on my own head so you cant actually see me in the shot except for maybe my hands. The guy in the hideous yellow suit is my buddy Jim that wore the camera in the first jump.
Incidentally, Jim is also the other guitar player in the band I’m in. We share a similar passion for jumping and tearing off huge shreddy riffs of kick-ass hard rock
Movies would have you believe that you can holler and talk to each other in freefall. 100% bullshit. All you can hear is 125 MPH wind and thats it. I set some music in the background since the sound of the wind gets real annoying in about 8 seconds…
The second video is:
POPS 23-way New Jersey State formation record
This is several points of view on the same jump. First is all outside by the hired camera guy. All the other views are from various helmet cams of participants. I’m the guy in the middle 4-way wearing black suit with blue grippers. My buddy and bandmate Jim is wearing the hideous orange suit also in the middle 4-way.
My favorite clip is the last one because its from someone in the trail plane and the POV starts from fairly far away from the formation and closes all the way to dock right before we break off
This third video is a very special jump. Not many folks these days ever get to take a ride in a genuine WWII bomber, but me and my friend Jim had an opportunity to not only take a ride in a B-176 Flying Fortress, but to also skydive out the bombay doors.
This gives new meaning to an old joke calling skydivers “meat bombs” 🙂
